We drive innovation through research + design

Above: Project approach with three phases of work

Above: Capabilities + offering

Specialising in tech and digital products, Maciver Inc. offers expertise across three phases of the design process:

01: Learn - Designing studies that build understanding of users and their needs
02: Innovate - Developing propositions that are based on user needs
03: Build + test - Evaluating and iterating of design solutions to ensure product-market fit

Drawing from UX research, service design and proposition development, our project approach (above) instills three key values in steering development processes:

+ A human-centred approach to innovation
Our approach centres around first understanding users and business issues, then developing products or experiences around real needs. The process has three core phases - 1) learn, 2) innovate, 3) build + test - that drive at instilling a human-centred approach to innovation (left). That means keeping the product, service and business in line with the needs and desires of users. We help firms adopt the human-centred philosophy, and integrate these frameworks in business processes.

+ Leading with problems
The kick-off point is identifying opportunities and user issues before any solutionising takes place. We believe in co-evolving knowledge of problem at the same time as prototyping solutions. This helps lead with user needs, rather than tech.

+ Data-driven design
By deploying research throughout the development process, we can continuously learn, regardless of product maturity. This ensures a business can keep in touch with its audience. Our toolkit draws from design thinking methodologies, and includes generative to evaluative UX research methods. In a process of  cross-functional collaboration, We believe in iterating between insights and development, to ensure that products are always grounded in data.
